About ARE USA:

ARE USA (Association for Refining Cross-Culture) was established in 2019 as an NPO in Los Angeles to offer specialized educational services focusing on various types of study-abroad programs for international students.

We are specialists that solely focuses on providing professional educational consultation dedicated to the betterment of students' lives and to the improvement of their educational and career goals. We specialize more in the academic long-term study-abroad programs, which we believe will be a greater asset to the student’s future rather than in short-term sightseeing package programs that are usually offered by travel agencies in Japan.

As a professional educational provider, we are proud to assist with researching of secondary schools, colleges, vocational schools and graduate schools through our placement services. With thorough consultation previous to the students leaving Japan and conducting complete background research on the student's character in addition to the purpose of their study-abroad and career goals, we confidently plan successful study itineraries and provide hands-on attention after their arrival into the USA, Canada and other destinations.

What differentiates us from other agencies are the various thoroughly though out support services we offer to the students and their families. After arriving at their destination, we closely keep in touch with the student, school and host family and monitor their academic progress in addition to their social life. Specifically for minor students, we also assist in their smooth and natural entrance into high school programs within a period of 2-3 months before their departure date, which is impossible for other agencies to undertake. That is why we welcome last-minute study-abroad decisions and we have the resources and experience to handle such situations. We have also re-evaluated the range of study-abroad options that are available and have concluded that ESL language training or college graduation programs alone would not suffice, especially for young people in our current society, and instead requires a more active hands-on skill training aspect as well.

Practical internships or hands-on skill training in conjunction with studying provides students with a greater skillset asset that leads to a greater demand for them by employers in our society. We now offer a WORK+STUDY program that includes, but not limited to J-1 business internships, hotel & hospitality internship programs and the likes. These programs are highly regarded by employers and they accept applicants regardless of their age.

As a part of our company expansion, we have local branch offices located in Tokyo that are staffed with representatives who are happy to closely consult and explain about our extensive and value-added services. Ms. Mark Mizumura is the director of ARE USA and travels to and visits many cities in Japan, providing free consultation to people who wish to study or work abroad. ARE USA’s mission is to support the betterment of people’s lives in any way we can, and to expand our services more and more to efficiently and effectively carry out our mission.
